Welcome
Music at Bilton Grange is thriving. As well as a weekly timetable of nearly 200 individual instrumental lessons, delivered by a team of 15 peripatetic teachers, there are a number of instrumental ensembles including the Concert Band, Junior Orchestra, String Group and Flute Choir.
Choral music is a longstanding and key feature of musical life at Bilton Grange. The Chapel Choir has received much critical acclaim for its performances and as well as its primary role in leading services in the school chapel, often undertakes overseas tours (recent destinations have included New York, Paris and Belgium) and makes regular cathedral visits to sing Choral Evensong.

Bilton Grange children often gain prestigious music awards to senior school and go on to significant musical achievements, following in the footsteps of Sir Arthur Bliss, a pupil at the turn of the 20th Century, who became Master of the Queen’s Musick. A more recent OB, Tom Bullard, was until recently musical director of the Swingle Singers. This year, we are delighted to congratulate Genevieve Hirst on a Music Scholarship to Rugby, and Annabelle Phillips on a Music award to Malvern College; both girls have also gained places in the National Youth Choir of Great Britain.
In the absence of the Director of Music on maternity leave during the Summer term, the department is led by David Noble, who is also Head of ICT, and the music assistant is Natalie Wild.
